About Us

Hi!

Nice to meet you! We are Jeltje and Jochem, a Dutch couple in denial about hitting 40. We have been traveling the world ever since we met 7 years ago, but have also spent plenty of time traveling solo.

We both grew up in and around the city of Utrecht, which, despite us not actually having a home, we still call home.

We enjoy slow travel and usually spend more than 3 weeks in the same place before moving on. This allows us to really get to know a place and its people. By blogging about it we hope to inspire you to get out there as well!

How it all started – in a nutshell

We met in 2018, through Tinder (😳) and connected on a mutual love for travel. It was only natural that by end 2019, we both took a 6 month sabbatical from work to travel to Asia. We traveled through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia and Sydney before we got stuck in New Zealand due to Covid and were flown back to the Netherlands on a government flight.

By summer 2021, we quit our jobs and traveled Europe in our campervan. We married in November of that year, ditched the van, got a 4×4 with a rooftop tent and drove it to Sweden. Once there, we fell in love with a little holiday park that was for sale. We managed to buy it, and subsequently lived and ran a business in Sweden for 3 years.

In summer of 2024, we decided we wanted a change of scenery. It took us a while to sell our home and business, but we did, packed up our few possessions in the 4×4 and parked it with family in the Netherlands while we flew to the Philippines for some much needed sun. We returned in March ’25, picked up the car and drove it to eastern Europe, where we still are.

What’s next? We’ve got no clue, but we’re always open for the next adventure.
